Palladium soars to new high 

 
JANUARY 25: Platinum group metals were in vogue in European precious metals markets on Tuesday, with palladium reaching a new all-time peak and platinum at its highest since mid-1997. Gold, meanwhile, was higher with the market holding firm ahead of Britain's fourth gold auction of 25 tonnes of official reserves.
