Praxair to invest $200m to set up units

Pune, Jan 25: Praxair will be investing around $200 million in its local operations over the next five years for setting up new facilities and expanding its industrial gases business in India, according to Praxair Asia Inc president James J Fuchs.With most of its facilities becoming operational, Praxair is aiming at a 100 per cent growth in turnover in year 2000 to Rs 270 crore from Rs 130 crore in 1999. The company has already invested $200 million in its local operations which include the subsidiary Praxair India and joint ventures with Jindal Vijaynagar Steel and Chemicon.
