Kondapalli Power's first gas turbine to be operational by April

Vijayawada, January 24: Lanco Kondapalli Power Ltd, which is setting up a Rs 1,064 crore, 355 mw combined cycle project at Kondapalli village near here, is slated to become the first of the six short-gestation power projects in AP to start operations."We are ready to commission the first gas turbine of 112 mw by April this year, a month ahead of schedule", KPL managing director Y Harish Chandra Prasad told visiting press persons last week. The company, a joint venture between the Lanco group, Eastern Generation Ltd & Commonwealth Development Corporation of UK and the Korea-based Hanjung, was the first project to achieve financial closure. All the three units will be commissioned by August this year ahead of schedule, Prasad said. The second gas turbine with 112 mw will go on stream by June and the steam turbine of 127.83 mw by August.
