EMI, Warner form music giant 

 
JANUARY 24: Britain's EMI Group Plc and US Group Time Warner Inc on Monday unveiled a merger to create the world's biggest music group with a powerful foothold on the Internet. EMI said it would wrap its star-studded roster of artists and catalogues in a 50-50 joint venture with Time Warner.
