Defence ministry website launched
The defence ministry has launched its website to provide information regarding the ministry and its activities. The website comprises nine modules containing brief information about all the three departments of the ministry, Indian armed forces, recruitment and training, resettlement and welfare schemes, activities of inter-services organisations, associated institutions and assistance to civil authorities by the armed forces.The website also contains seven sub-modules which provide information on press releases and announcements made from time to time, open tenders floated by the ministry and related sites such as those of Indian armed forces and Defence Research and Development Organisation.

The Mumbai-based Inches Communications has unveiled its portal site - growingwell.com - dedicated to childcare. The site would offer information on the growth and assessment of a child from birth to 12 years inaddition to ethical, authentic, scientific and relevant information about commonly occurring childhood ailments. The company is also planning to launch the site in Hindi version. The growingwell.com is also coming out with a host of interactive features for the health conscious Indian mother. e-mail on BPL Mobile
BPL Mobile has launched a new service in Mumbai, e-mail on mobilephones, free of cost. The users can send and receive mails on their phones. The company said that this is part of its wireless internet service initiative. Each user gets his e-mail ID. BPL is also planning to launch banking transactions, travel bookings, credit card payments, entertainment schedules, stock quotes and bargain offers on mobile phones to subscribers. The company is part of the Rs 3,500 crore BPL Group.
