Airports planned in several states
JANUARY 16: The government is considering setting up international airports in several states including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh and would invite foreign investment for it, civil aviation minister Sharad Yadav said in New Delhi on Sunday. In an interview, he said government would also restructure the boards of Air India and Indian airlines and streamline their functioning for better efficiency, but there was no move to merge the two.
