Mumbai, Jan 16: Hughes Software Systems has reported a 98 per cent growth in post tax profit at Rs 14.32 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 1999, up from Rs 7.23 crore during the corresponding period in the previous year. The company has recorded a 42 per cent growth in sales during the third quarter at Rs 30.31 crore, up from Rs 21.31 crore during the corresponding period in the previous year.Total income during the quarter amounted to Rs 39.23 crore, recording an 81 per cent growth over Rs 21.68 crore recorded during the corresponding period in the previous year, according to a release.
For the nine-month period ended December 31 1999, the company recorded sales of Rs 74.01 crore and post tax profit of Rs 25.71 crore. HSS added 12 new customers during the third quarter, taking the total customers added during the year to 28. In addition to the two distributors in the US, a new distributor has been appointed to sell products in the European region, the release added.
Three new dedicateddevelopment facilities have been started during the third quarter that are expected to generate over $1 million revenue this year. The revenue mix during the third quarter consisted of software product sales at 20 per cent, software services income at 31 per cent and income from services to Hughes network Systems at 49 per cent. Revenue from the Internet and E commerce centre at Bangalore constituted 10 per cent of the third quarter revenues and contributed 14 per cent to the new order input. During the quarter, the paid up equity share capital increased to Rs 16.63 crore from Rs 15.75 crore as a result of the initial public offer (IPO).
