Musicurry.com posts half a million hits within 50 days

Pune, January 16: Musicurry.com, India's first web-based radio station, broadcasting a wide range of Indian music, has registered over half a million hits within 50 days of starting operations. Gautam Godse, president and CEO of musicurry.com, says his company will now get into promoting music labels on the net and offer an outlet for upcoming artists to emerge as a web-based recording company.The other promoters of the company are pop star Mandar Agashe and Adinath Mangeshkar, nephew of singer Lata Mangeshkar. The site netcasts classic Hindi film music, Indian pop music, Indian classical, devotional music and ghazals. Agashe hopes to rope in sponsors and advertisers in the next six months for which the company is working out some schemes. The company has two recording studios - one in Pune and the other in Mumbai. Original numbers from individuals or groups will be recorded in the company studios and subsequently appear on the website. For every hit, the singer will be paid royalty.
