New Delhi, Jan 16: Automobile major Piaggio on Sunday said it plans to re-enter the Indian two-wheeler market by launching the four-stroke `new Vespa' soon.The new version of the erstwhile Vespa would incorporate the latest Piaggio technology and conforms to pollution norms, a senior company official said at the Auto Expo here.
"Piaggio will launch the `new Vespa' in India soon and these range of scooters will incorporate the latest Piaggio technology and conform to pollution norms," resident manager of Piaggio in India Mario Emprin Gilardini said in a company statement. The company had earlier announced that it was targeting India as one of its major manufacturing base.
