Ahmedabad, Jan 16: The Ahmedabad-based Intas Pharmaceuticals Ltd has announced its entry into oncology segment by offering `Paclitaxel', an integrated therapy for metastatic breast cancer and advanced ovarian cancer.Speaking on the occasion here on Saturday, Intas director B Chudgar said, "Paclitaxel is the first product of the oncology division using plant cell and tissue culture technology, in collaboration with a Fortune 500 pharma giant."While several MNCs and national players have a presence in the high-tech therapeutic care segment, he said, Intas has plans to provide a broad spectrum of chemotherapeutic care as well as supportive care molecules -- offering a complete anti-cancer therapy range.
Outlining IPL's future strategy, its vice-president (marketing and sales) SP Maitra said the company has floated a separate oncology division equipped with an independent field force to promote the latest anti-cancer products to oncologists.
The Rs 100-crore IPL has achieved a CAGR (compounded annualgrowth rate of 30 per cent since 1991.
