IBM Global Services achieves CMM Level 5
IBM Global Services in India has been assessed at managed Level 5 of the Capability Maturity Model (CMM) prescribed by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) of the Carnegie Mellon University, US. The assessment was made by Global Systems Technology, the authorised lead assessors of SEI. IBM Global Services in India is the 16th company in the world to achieve this highest level of maturity, an IBM press release said on Wednesday.Control Data Systems renamed
Global consulting and information systems business of British Telecom, Syntegra, announced that Control Data Systems Inc has been renamed as Syntegra. The $1-billion Syntegra had completed acquisition of Control Data Systems and its subsidiaries on September 1, 1999. The name change is the first visible sign of Control Data Systems' integration into Syntegra's global operation. Syntegra helps organisations change and seize business opportunities through creative and dynamic application of new technology.
Computer Gaming World launched
Jasubhai Digital Media (JDM) has launched Computer Gaming World in India, a magazine for gaming enthusiasts, The magazine has the highest readership in its class of magazines. Published by US-based Ziff-Davis, the magazine will hit newstands as a quarterly. It comes with two CDs packed with games and demos. JDM recently launched another magazine, Computer Reseller News, dedicated to the IT industry.
