Bangalore, Dec 1: Computer education and IT player Aptech Ltd is looking at software accounting for 30 per cent of its business by 2002. The company totted up Rs 50-crore in software revenues in 1999 which is expected to double to Rs 100 crore in 2000, according to Aptech managing director Ganesh Natarajan.Natarajan was speaking with media persons here on Wednesday following an announcement of Aptech's tie-up with Sun Microsystems to offer complete E-business solutions to the banking and insurance sectors. Attributing the jump in the company's scrip to the feelgood atmosphere created by Satyam Infoway's Rs 499 crore takeover of IndiaWorld Communications, he said there was no move towards a bonus issue.
Natarajan said the e-commerce centre set up here was looking at generating revenues of $75-80 million over the next three years.
In the new alliance, while Sun will provide the platforms and technologies including products and solutions, Aptech brings its expertise in e-commerce, ERP and knowledge management to help organisations in the financial sector get their Web businesses up and running.
Aptech vice-president for Internet and e-commerce Sanjay Ketkar said the company's value proposition was digital value creation for Net applications.
