A&M -- HLL most-admired marketing company again 

 
New Delhi, Nov 29: Hindustan Lever Ltd (HLL) has yet again emerged as the the number one marketer in the FMCG category while Titan Industries leads the pack in durables category, according to an annual survey published in A&M's issue dated November 30, 1999. The India's Most Admired Marketing Companies '99 survey was conducted by IMRB.

The study also revealed that P&G which was at the number two slot last year has slid down to number 12 this year. Coca-Cola India (at No. 2) has overtaken Pepsi Foods (No. 4). Cadbury India, which had dropped to number seven last year, has bounced back to its number three slot. In fact, as per the individual parameters, Cadbury is next only to HLL and has taken the top slot on advertising. The FMCG category saw new entrants like Kellogg, Parle Biscuits and Henkel Spic. Godrej Soaps has moved up nine ranks while Johnson & Johnson has slid nine ranks.

In the Most Admirable Durables' Marketers category, Titan Industries Ltd and BPL have maintained their positions at number oneand two respectively. LG Electronics has moved up to number five, just ahead of Godrej-GE, while Intel makes a dramatic entry into the top five slot. Infosys, the other new entrant, shares a berth with Wipro.

Baron International's rank has nose-dived from number eight to 35 while cellular phone marketers Motorola, Ericsson and Nokia have all fallen in varying degrees.
