Chennai, Nov 29: Compuware Corporation, the $2-billion software product company of the US, plans to forge a series of marketing tie-ups in India to sell its range of software products.The company's product portfolio includes tools focussing on component-based development, automatic error detection and debugging on Windows, file and data management, automated testing, service-level management etc.
With a view to creating more market for its products in India, the company has entered into an agreement with two firms. It has tied up with the Chennai-based Indium Software (India) Ltd to sell its automated testing software, QAcentre. It has also appointed the Bangalore-based Infomart to hawk two of its products, QAcentre and NuMart, an automatic error detection and debugging software.
Announcing the appointment of Indium Software as an authorised partner for QAcentre suite of software here on Monday, Compuware Asia Pacific Pte Ltd channels manager JR Wong Choong Yan said India was becoming a hot market fortesting products. With the growing quality consciousness of the people, India has thrown the doors open for Compuware's range of testing products. And this has led the company to forge marketing tie-ups with domestic firms, Yan said.
Indium Software is promoted by the Chennai-based VD Swami and Company, an international trading house and engineering construction company. Started with an authorised capital of Rs 1 crore, Indium hopes to focus its business activities in the areas of software development, consultancy, training and services.
The company has also signed up with the Canada-based Mortice Kern Systems Inc, to market their software configuration management software and other suite of products, said Indium Software director Vijay Balaji. Indium, which kickstarted its operations in April this year, hopes to achieve Rs 5 crore by the end of 2000 and Rs 30 crore by the end of financial year 2003.
