RSP bags Rs 20-crore IOC order

Bhubaneswar, Nov 29: The Rourkela Steel Plant of SAIL has bagged a Rs 20-crore order from Indian Oil Corporation to supply spiral weld pipes for the Haldia Barauni crude pipeline project. The order has been placed for 114-km long pipes with an outer diametre of 18 inches and thickness of 6.4mm in the API 5L-X65 grade.

An RSP spokesperson said, the plant began preparations to procure the IOC order sometime in October. Preparation of raw material, strip rolling, making of pipes, welding and testing of finished products were carried out in the presence of officials of M/S Germanisher Lloyd Industrial Services India Ltd - the inspection agency appointed by IOC.
