Ahmedabad,Nov 28: The Gujarat government has banned the export of fodder from the state with immidiate effect. The decion has come in the wake of the drought situation in parts of the state, sources said.Talking to reporters here, finance minister Vajubhai Vala said the decision was taken at Saturday's cabinet meeting. The ban was effective on the export of dried grass, grass, and rice husk, he added.
He said instructions had been given to district collectors to distribute fodder at concessional rates and also start drought relief works.Castor arrival increases. The daily arrival of castorseed has gone up to 15,000 bags as farmers are seeling the seed. The spot seed prices rose to Rs 339 on the friday but reacted to Rs 336 due to lack of buying at higher leval. Around 30 percent crop is suffering from a disease known as Sukaro.
However, traders said that the affected crop is around 10 percent. Such instance always reported during this season. The oil was ruled around Rs 365 per 10 kg. Cotton futuresrecoverd but fails to sustain gains.
The cotton futures traded at Surendranagar recovered to Rs 362 per 20 kg from the recent lows of Rs 355. However, the rally proved shortlived thanks to selling at higher level.
The prices was quoted at Rs 356.50 on the Friday. Spot prices continued to drifted lowers dueto lack of buying, traders said. Akola based traders were buyers while local trader seen sellers.
