Globsyn ties up with Ahmedabad co
Applitech Solution Ltd, a leading Gujarat-based software company, has tied up with Globsyn Technologies to set up a TechnoCampus in Ahmedabad. Briefing presspersons, Globsyn chairman and CEO Bikram Dasgupta said that the TechnoCampus, a high-end software education centre, has been modelled along the finishing school concept and aims to bridge the gap between the generic and concept-oriented university education and the market demand for application software professionals.

E-mail support for Wipro Voyager users
Wipro has launched a free e-mail-based support service for Wipro Voyager PC customers. Wipro Voyager customers across the country can send an e-mail to wiprovoyager@learn-at-home.com with their problems. Wipro has tied up with the Bangalore-based internet company, Learn@home.com to respond over e-mail to provide easy access and timely advice and guidance to customers. As part of the alliance, Learn@home has set up an e-support infrastructure andwould provide e-support to customers.

HDFC to implement Unicenter TNG
HDFC Bank has decided to standardise on Unicenter TNG of Computer Associates to manage its corporate IT environment. It is trying to offer its clients the flexibility to access their accounts from any location. In addition to establishing a wide network of ATMs across India, HDFC Bank also offers telephone and internet banking. Each branch system consists of servers and desktops. Most of the banking applications are hosted on Sun, Compaq and Tandem servers. The implementation of Unicenter TNG will form the foundation for end-to-end monitoring and administration of HDFC Bank's heterogeneous IT environment.

CITIL attains SEI CMM Level 5
CITIL has attained SEI CMM Level 5. The data warehousing projects and products of the Citibank sister company have been assessed for the highest level. CITIL was the first banking software software company in the world to achieve SEI-CMM Level 4, placing it among the top few companiesin the world to be so assessed.

GKinPocket from Group Usha
Group Usha software company Information Technologies India has launched GKinPocket, an application developed for Palm Pilot, to provide users a mini encyclopedia where one can find everything about the countries, books and authors, inventions and world records. This application will aid the user in getting a first-hand knowledge about world-known facts and figures. It will run on Palm III/V Windows CE based, hand-held palmtops. It has a user-friendly interface and the users can choose the information they require by choosing the sub-categories.

Adroit to implement Business 2000
Delhi-based Adroit Computer Technique (ACT) has won a contract to implement Business 2000 ERP solution at the Triveni Engineering and Industries for its three sugar plants at Khatauli, Deobandh and Ramkola in UP.

Correction
The headline of the story published on Thursday on Compaq's CustomsSystems & Solutions group setting up two newtechnology engineering centres in India and China should have been: "Compaq arm to set up software centre in India" and not as stated. The error is regretted.
