Banks' staff to stage rally on Monday

Calcutta, Nov 23: Bank and insurance sector employees have planned a nationwide agitation against the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Union government's proposal to privatise banks and invite foreign insurance companies to operate in India.

Announcing the stir, GurudasDasgupta of the Communist Party of India (CPI) said a massive rally is being planned by the 13-odd lakh bank and insurance sector employees in front of the Parliament house on November 29. Similar demonstrations have also been planned at all state capitals.
