HOC posts savings of Rs 5.6 crore
Hindustan Organic Chemicals has achieved a savings of Rs 5.60 crore through the implementation of management audit system, a tool of change management. Where instead of an outside agency doing the audit, the company takes it up as an internal exercise, with an integrated team, which includes members from the department to be audited doing the audit and monitoring implementation of the action plan.ILTD to pump in Rs 330 cr
Indian Leaf Tobacco Development, a division of ITC Ltd, is investing over Rs 330 crore in enhancing its threshing technology and doubling capacity over the next four years. "We are setting up two processing lines for tobacco leaf at our chirala plant with Rs 145 crore investment in the first phase of expansion and modernisation," KS Rao, chief executive, ITLD division, said. Expected to get operational from March 2000, the new lines will almost double processing capacity of iltd to 530 tonnes a day.
WCCL, Brushman form tieup
The US-based Wahl Clipper Corporation has entered into an agreement with Brushman International to market its products in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The indian company will market Wahl Clipper's latest range of hair grooming products-clippers, trimmers, shavers and massagers. The US company has set a target to sell 1,00,000 products within first year, which will translate into a turnover of Rs three to four crore.
CM to inaugurate printers' meet
Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh will inaugurate the two-day 28th all India printers' conference in Aurangabad on November 27. Meanwhile, `Print Harmony', an exhibition on printing machinery, will be held in Aurangabad from November 26 to 28.
