Centre may set up 3 petro-chemical complexes

Mumbai, Nov 17: The Centre is planning to set up at least threepetro-chemical complexes in the country, according to chemicals andfertilisers minister Suresh Prabhu. An inter-ministerial group has been setup under the ministry, which is at present talking to various stategovernments as well as industrialists who would be interested in taking upthe projects, Prabhu said at the inauguration of Chemindia exhibition hereon Wednesday. Global bids will be invited for the projects, he said. Maharashtra and Gujarat are the two states which have come forward and beingfavourably considered due to availability of port facilities, he said.
