Chennai, Nov 15: Pentafour Software & Exports Ltd has declared an interim dividend of 16 per cent on the equity share of the company for the current fiscal year.The dividend has been declared on the enhanced share capital of the capital consequent to the issue of 1:1 bonus shares during September 30, 1999. The dividend for the recently allotted bonus shares will be paid on a pro-rata basis, the company said in a statement today.
The record date for deciding on the eligibility of the dividend has been fixed as January 1, 2000.
The company posted a turnover of Rs 317.05 crore for the period ended September 30, 1999 with a net profit of Rs 71.16 crore. The current paid-up share capital stands at Rs 39.94 crore.
For 1998-99, the company had declared a total dividend of 70 per cent. The turnover during that year was Rs 526 crore and net profit Rs 119.11 crore.Pentafour has chalked out a major acquisition plan and has already identified about eight infotech firms across the globe for such pu-rposes.
Reuters adds: Pentafour Software said it had acquired Animasia International Pte Ltd, a leading animation production house based in Singapore and Phillipines.
"Animasia Singapore and Kingdom Animasia-a subsidiary of Animasia Singapore were jointly acquired by Pentafour Software," the firm said in a statement.
