PowerGrid may have to spin off part of its assets into SPV
As part of the disinvestment programme of the government, the Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) is looking into the possibility of spinning off part of its assets into a special purpose vehicle (SPV).

Maharashtra power regulatory body asks for decision-making powers
Maharashtra State Electricity Regulatory Commission (MSERC) has demanded complete powers for the commission. In a written communique to the state government, chairman P Subramanium has said that the commission should be given all the powers stated in the Chapter V of the Electricity Regulatory Commission Act, 1998.
