Log on to Infoequity.com to keep track of investments

P Sreevalsan Menon
Mumbai, Nov 12: Are you one of those small investors or NRIs who find it difficult to track investments in equities on a daily basis? The personal financial management website, Infoequity.com from Infobahn can be of some assistance here.

The users can register free online with the site giving their user name, e-mail address, information on portfolio and few other details. At present, only those shares traded on the National Stock Exchanges can be tracked. The user can request for an `alert' if the share breaches any particular price point and can order a sell or buy. Each user portfolio is updated automatically every 15 minutes during the NSE market hours.

The site comes with five predefined settings to enable the user to view current, market, historical, technical and fundamental data on each share.

Infoequity.com is planning to tie up with the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) to provide historical backdrop on companies while it may utilise the Capital's live news upgrades for informing the users the latest.

Acording to the Infobahn managing director Kapil Sanghi, the most important feature of the site is intraday details it provides on each shares. He also felt that the site will be highly useful for non-resident Indians. ``Infoequity.com aims at those individuals who cannot manage their portfolios on their own. The prime targets are NRIs who may have some shares of Indian companies but cannot track them on a daily basis,'' he said.

Other features like portfolio management allows users to create his personal portfolio by giving names of his shares while the infoequity portfolio tracker gives instant security portfolio access, day and night to users.

Charts in the site will present graphical illustration on price movements of individual shares and the NSE 50 Index while alerts can be set by users for individual shares based on the actual price or price change in percentage. As alerts are activated by the market movement, the users are informed through e-mails.

The site has also facilities for users to maintain their bank details such as deposits, withdrawals and share dividend accounting.

The company has invested 12 man years in the process. The server has been set up in the US.
