4 Indian firms find berth in Forbes list

New Delhi, Nov 5: Indian companies Tata Infotech, Western Hatcheries, Britannia Industries and Hindustan Sanitaryware have made it to the 200 best small companies in the world published by international business magazine "Forbes".

The study titled "200 best small companies" ranked Tata Infotech at 52 followed by poultry breeding firm Western Hatcheries at 67, biscuit manufacturer Britannia Industries has been ranked 79 and Hindustan Sanitaryware, a leader in bathroom fixtures, at 96. The details of the entire ranking is being covered in the November one issue of the Forbes magazine.

Top 200 small companies were selected from 12,000 companies from 34 countries having revenues less than 500 million dollars and return on equity of at least 10 per cent.

In addition to it, the companies also had to show at least 15 per cent net income growth and 15 per cent revenue growth in the last fiscal along with a 10 per cent five year annual average growth in net income and sales.Among these criterias Tata Infotech has return on equity of 34 per cent, Western Hatcheries 19 per cent, Britannia Industries 29 per cent and Hindustan Sanitaryware 11 per cent.
