NHPC to get $119 m loan for Chamera
National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) will get $119 million loan from Export Development Corporation (EDC) of Canada for 300 mw Chamera hydroelectric project stage II in Himachal Pradesh. The agreement to this effect was signed by chairman and managing director of NHPC Yogendra Prasad and EDC vice president Sherry Noble in the presence of Canadian high commissioner to India Peter Walker in New Delhi on Thursday.Territorial Army to join rescue teams at Paradeep
The Territorial Army may join the other central rescue and relief teams working in Orissa on Thursday to restore Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) installations at Paradeep, Cuttack and elsewhere in the cyclone-ravaged state.Talking to newsmen here on Wednesday, IOC chairman TA Pathan said that task forces have been formed take remedial steps without any delay.
Himachal to get 14 lakh units per day from Centre
The centre will release 14 lakh units of the electricity per day to Himachal Pradesh out of the unallocated power share from Northern Regional Load Despatch Centre, chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said in New Delhi on Thursday.Speaking to reporters after meeting with power minister P R Kumaramangalam on Thursday, Dhumal said that centre has increased the state's share from existing seven to 11 per cent.
New programme from Bhel stable
