Rajiv Vij to head Templeton in India 

FE NEWS SERVICE  
NOV 04: Rajiv Vij has been promoted as the country head and chief executive officer of Templeton Asset Management (India). Vij, who was till recently in charge of marketing, wil be resposnsible for managing Templeton's entire operations in India.

Vij takes over from Vijay Advani, who has been promoted as managing director Templeton Worldwide. Advani, who will move to Singapore, will be responsible for Templeton Worldwide's operations for the mid/near east region.

Nilesh Shah, portfolio manager, has been promoted as chief investment officer. Shah, who has been managing Templeton's three fixed income products, will now head a portfolio management team of equity and fixed income analysts and will oversee Templeton's initiatives in the equity market. B Swaminathan, vice-president operations, has been promoted as director and chief operating officer.

Templeton has over Rs 850 crore assets under management.
