New Delhi, Nov 3: Maruti Udyog on Wednesday announced the launch of two variants of Omni XL with the entry level price below Rs 2,00,000 (ex-showroom) in the national capital and offered an option of multi-point fuel injection (MPFI) system in select cities. The five-seater version is priced at Rs 2,10,027.With the five-seater and eight-seater, MUL now has four variants in its kitty of Omni series, the other two being the five and eight seater flat roof versions of Omni.
Omni XL is a high roof version with a height of 183.5 cm and will offer 19.5 cm more headroom than the flat roof Omni. The Omni range of vehicles will be available with MPFI in Delhi and Calcutta. The Omni is the second vehicle after Zen VXI with the MPFI option from MUL stable. The MPFI system makes Omni compliant with Euro II norms well ahead of stipulated date of April 1, 2000. Maruti alongwith its vendors has made investments of more than Rs 600 crore as part of its programme to ensure compliance with Euro II norms. The company has sold 5,069 units of Omni in October.
Omni's sale rose by 30 per cent during the first seven months of this financial year compared with the corresponding period of the last year.
