New Delhi, Nov 3: The Government has cleared 58 proposals of foreign directinvestments worth Rs 1,541 crore including the disinvestment of 18 croreshares of Gas Authority of India Ltd (Gail) worth Rs 180 crore by way of GDRissue.Industry minister Murasoli Maran also approved the proposal of GoodlassNerolac Paints Ltd to raise the foreign equity from 35.96 per cent to 64.52per cent which will bring in FDI of Rs 109 crore.
Skoda Auto Ltd has got the clearance of Rs 235 crore to set up a passengercar manufacturing and assembling project. In this case, the FDI equity is100 per cent.
Sun and Sound Systems Pvt Ltd has been approved to invest Rs 425 crore. Withthis, the NRI equity in the security systems company will become 85 per cent.International Seaports (India) Pvt Ltd has been allowed Rs 351 crore for thedevelopment and upgradation of ports and port-related services in India.
Wilton Weavers Pvt Ltd has been allowed to invest Rs 244 crore for themanufacture of carpets. The percentage of FDI equity is 66.67 per cent inthis case.
Orchid Chemicals & Petrochemicals Ltd will invest Rs 175 crore in bulkdrugs. The foreign equity will be a little more than 37 per cent.
In Toyota Kirloskar, FDI worth Rs 100 crore has been allowed and the shareof Toyota will increase marginally from 87 to 88.86 per cent. In KirloskarToyoda Textile Machinery Ltd, however, the increase in FDI equity has beenfrom 65.74 to 87 per cent, the amount of FDI exceeding Rs 38 crore.
Westinghouse Air Brake Company will bring in Rs 42 crore to manufacture,market and sell sophisticated railway related products. FDI equity will be100 per cent.
TNT Express will invest Rs 5.75 crore in freight and parcel services, withFDI equity increasing from 51 to 100 per cent.
The Caparo Group will invest Rs 20 crore in consultancy in infrastructureservice activities. Enercon India Ltd will bring in Rs 15 crore to invest inwindmills. Nagata Auto Parts Company has been allowed to invest Rs 7 crorefor high technology press dies for sheet metal components and plastic mouldsand tools.
