Manju AB
Mumbai, Nov 3: Baron group CEO Kabir Mulchandani was arrested on Wednesday morning and later released on bail. The arrest was in connection with a complaint filed against him by a private detective, Vishwanathan Chetam, for allegedly threatening him. Mulchandani was questioned in a case (No 212, under section 506 (2) IPC) filed by the Chetam. Mulchandani was later produced in the court where he was released on bail after furnishing a bond Rs 5,000," said a senior police officer.A Baron press release said Mulchandani "was asked to come to the RAK Marg police station in connection with a complaint filed by Vishwanathan. While the group has full faith in the process of law, certain events rankle. Most obvious is the fact that on July 18 and 23, Mulchandani filed a complaint in the Malabar Hill police station against Vishwanathan and his associates. What surprises the group is the police chose to take action on a complaint filed on July 27 and not take any action on a complaint filed on July 23."
