Titan goes for gold with Nebula

Kavitha Rajasekhar
Bangalore, Oct 31: Titan Industries Ltd is preparing to launch its all-gold Nebula range of watches this Diwali. The launch marks the company's foray into the niche jewellery watch segment. Aimed at the upmarket, 25-years plus segment, the company plans to initially bring in 24 models for both men and women, Titan's vice president (marketing) Jacob Kurien told The Financial Express.

The watches are sculpted out of 18 carat solid gold and priced between Rs 5950 and Rs 32,000. ``Nebula will offer the Indian consumer a gold watch, bringing together good styling at effective price ranges,'' Kurien said.

Nebula's leather strap watches were test marketed earlier in Mumbai, Delhi and Vijaywada. ``The results were positive and we are therefore going ahead with the formal brand launch this festival season,'' Kurien said.

The leather models will be available across the country at the `World of Titan'and select `Time Zone' outlets and the all gold watches would be available in the metros, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Poona and Ahmedabad. ``While catering to the Indian consumer's fascination for gold, Titan is also looking at adding a new dimension to the concept of women's dressing and wedding gifting with this range,'' he said.
