Hyundai plans to export Accent to US in 3 months

Hyderabad, Oct 31: Hyundai Motor India Ltd is planning to export its new car Accent to the US in three months' time and to the European countries next financial year. "The specifications will differ with Indian car but the technology remains th same." HMIL wants to increase exports from $10 million to $20 million, director (marketing & sales) BVR Subbu, told The Financial Express here on Thursday. He said the company has options to manufacture CNG cars in India. The issue has been deliberated widely in India. The company is mulling a 5 per cent increase in the prices of Santro in a months' time, which has already sold over 50,000 cars since its launch less than a year back. "I believe the price hike is inevitable at this juncture," The cost increase probably will take effect from December, he said."We are thinking of price hike up to a maximum of 5 per cent of the cost of Santro variants," Subbu said and added that the senior officials of the company have been discussing the issue at great length.
