Ispat Industries H1 net dives to Rs 3 cr

Ispat Industries, the flagship of the ML Mittal group, has posted a lower net profit for the first half at Rs 3.04 crore, down from Rs 23.69 crore in the same period last year. Net sales at Rs 721.08 crore was marginally lower on account of lower sales realisation. The company expects the second half to be better as steel prices have already hardened, with a second round of price hike expected in November.

Digital 13-week net up 52%

Digital Equipment India has posted a 52 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 8.2 crore for the 13 weeks ended September 25, 1999. Revenues from software and exports increased by 21 per cent to Rs 21.7 crore (Rs 17.9 crore). There was a fall in total revenue to Rs 25.9 crore (Rs 65.5 crore) as the company has transferred its computer products and services business to Compaq. Shareholders of Digital India also approved the company's plan to introduce an ESOP at fair market value.

Forbes H1 net up at Rs 5.5 cr

Forbes Gokak has posted a higher net profit for the first half at Rs 5.58 crore (Rs 3.51 crore). Total turnover dropped to Rs 174.88 crore (Rs 194.19 crore).

Deepak Nitrite net up to Rs 6.6 cr

Deepak Nitrite has reported an increase in net profit to Rs 6.62 crore (Rs 5.80 crore) for the first half of the current fiscal. Its sales rose to Rs 83.97 crore from Rs 81.43 crore.

Nucleus Software net at Rs 37 lakh

Nucleus Software registered a net profit of Rs 37.2 lakh on a turnover of Rs 2.68 crore for the first quarter ended September 30, 1999.

Sofia Software net spurts 240%

Sofia Software has posted a net profit of Rs 38 lakh on a turnover of Rs 1.44 crore for the first quarter ended September 30, 1999. While the net profit grew by 240 per cent, the sales during the quarter was up by 156 per cent. The EPS stands at Rs 5.09.
