The association, in a letter faxed to the Union industry minister Murasoli Maran said that the strike was causing tremendous difficulty in maintaining supplies as the commodity could not be transported from the auction centres to other destinations.

The Minister had also been urged to take prompt action in ending the stalemate and bring about stability in surface transport movement in the country.
