SISL restructures engineering centreSiemens Information Systems Ltd has restructured its software engineering centre to a business unit. The polymerisation of the unit into a single business entity will see SISL significantly increase its share of the Simens AG software outsourcing requirements of nearly DM2 billion, the company said. The unit is an outsourcing facility in the field of services for medical engineering, automotive, transportation and other key sectors.
Nasscom-BSA anti-piracy drive
Continuing their fight against piracy in the corporate sector, Nasscom and Business Software Alliance (BSA) have assisted a court-appointed commissioner in the execution of a civil search and seizure order action against a Delhi software training centre late last week. The Anton Piller Orders (civil search and seizure) were executed against MIIT (Manhattan Institute of Info Tech) and its owner, Rajesh Kalra. The training centre was running courses in general software training. Nasscom-BSA members alleged that the training centres were operating without the necessary software licenses for the products being used, besides the fact that the software was not genuine.
Microsoft Asia Fusion '99
Aptech has been invited to participate in Microsoft Asia Fusion '99, a business symposium for Microsoft certified solution providers (MCSPs) to be held in Hong Kong. The company had entered into a partnership with Microsoft early this year and was appointed as its internet solutions partner, providing training in Microsoft products and technologies nationwide.
