Mumbai, Oct 25: The LIC Housing Finance has posted a 11.22 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 40.94 crore during the first half ended September 30, 1999 from Rs 36.81 crore in the corresponding period last year.The total income during the six-month period was Rs 299.81 crore, marking a rise of 16.32 per cent over Rs 257.74 crore in the same period during the previous year. Growth in loan sanctions was to the tune of 25.76 per cent at Rs 666.17 crore, while disbursements rose by 30.95 per cent to Rs 593.44 crore.
The company's board on Monday approved loans for purchase and construction of nursing homes, clinics and diagonostic centres. The scheme will be operative in select centres. For consumer durables, the Sampurna Griha--`A' and `B'-- has been approved. Loan under the `A' scheme will be available for buying consumer durables. Those under the `B' scheme will be available to existing the borrowers.
