Mumbai, Oct 25: Indian Airlines has proposed to increase seat capacity ex-Mumbai to around 5900 seats per day from 5300 seats offered currently. The additional capacity will be available through the winter schedule of the airline starting from November 1, 1999.The airline will operate 288 flights per week compared with the existing 258 flights.
The additional flights to be introduced from Mumbai include Jammu/Srinagar, Pune, Aurangabad and Goa. The airline will also have a flight connecting Cochin with Delhi via Mumbai.
The Mumbai-Aurangabad, Mumbai-Cochin flights will operate via Delhi, said a company release. There will be three flight daily on Mumbai-Ahmedabad route.
The airline wil operate nine flights a week on Mumbai-Goa route to offer 2200 seats. The airline will continue to operate the nine metro shuttle flights between Mumbai and Delhi as per the existing schedule.
