Geojit Securities starts depository services via Net

P Vinod Kumar
Kochi, Oct 13: Setting a trend in providing depository services, Kochi-based Geojit Securities Ltd, a leading stock broking and depository services company, has commenced offering depository services through the internet with the launch of a new multi-utility website targeted at overseas clients.

The website -- geojitsecurities.com -- will enable clients to open accounts, extract data and other related information through their PCs. The website will also provide real-time information about the scrip movements on NSE.

Announcing this here on Wednesday, Geojit Securities managing director CS George said the company had conceived this plan to cater to its large NRI clientele. "We have more than 5,000 NRI clients in our book and the new facility will help them open and operate their depository service easily," he said.

The website facility will also benefit others as well as the internet cult was fast spreading its wings in the country, George added.

The website has been designed by Mumbai-based stock market and financial software giant Infotech Financial Solutions Ltd. The facility will allow downloading statement of accounts and details of the last 10 tradings done by the client, George explained. This facility becomes handy to tally accounts and effect corrections, if needed, he added.

The website will give the market value of the client's holdings on a real-time basis and also a glimpse of the profit and loss status of his portfolio, he said. "Clients can access this specific website through a specific password allotted to them by the company. Separate password for each client will also help to keep the security of their accounts," George added.
