Vajpayee blames Congress for jungle raj in Bihar

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
Lucknow, Sept 24: Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Friday said a "jungle raj" was prevailing in Bihar and blamed the Congress for continuation of the Rabri Devi government in the state.

"A jungle raj prevails in Bihar, Dalits are being massacred, women are not safe," Vajpayee said addressing an election meeting at Munshi pulia here.

The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) government was responsible for the large-scale violence during the first phase polling in in the state, the Prime Minister said.

Vajpayee said the RJD government could not be dismissed as "our efforts to dislodge it were thwarted by Congress".
