Chennai, Sept 20: Investments in wind power is looking up and the wind power major, NEPC India Ltd has confirmed orders last month for Rs 40 crore for installing 10 mw wind energy generators (WEG). According to company chairman Ravi Prakash Khemka,``we have over Rs 200 crore worth orders in the pipeline for WEGs on turnkey basis''.The company is also hopeful of getting more orders from the public sector and corporate giants in the country as ``we have enquires for setting up wind farms totalling 1000 mw to be set up in the next 3-5 years.
He also said that the the company is executing assignments for various blue chip companies.
NEPC, the pioneer in harnessing wind energy have so far installed over 1500 WEGs of different capacities accounting for over 500 mw in different states.
The company claims to have achieved 95 per cent indigenisation of its WEG. It has also promoted a joint venture unit in Bangalore, LM Glasfiber Ltd in association with LM Glasfiber A/S Denmark for making WEG blades.
