"Globex has a good financial position and is looking at India to set up a production base in the next two to three years as the country is a very attractive market for us," president of the multinational company Ash Basin said.
IMC unveils new logo
The Indian Merchants' Chamber (IMC), which celebrated its 93rd foundation day recently, has unveiled a new emblem. Explaining the need for changing its emblem, IMC president Pradeep Chinai said, "In view of the dramatic changes in the Indian industrial environment, the chamber found it necessary to have a new more representative emblem.
GCCI delegation
A 26-member delegation of Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) led by its president Mukesh Patel left Ahmedabad on Wednesday for Nordic countriesfrom September 15 to October 6 to increase bilateral trade with Scandinavia, Iceland and Finland. The delegation comprising exporters and manufacturers of textiles, engineering, drugs and building industry is particularly keen to develop deep sea fishing, ship-breaking industry and computer software exports.
Lucent announces grant
Lucent Technologies Foundation on Wednesday announced the first ever grant of Rs 2.2 crore in India to enrich lives of 4,000 less privileged rural youth through Share and Care Foundation in six cities over a period of three years beginning June 2000. The grant will fund eight projects.
