Compaq, Zenith in strategic partnership

Compaq India and Zenith Computers have entered into a strategic partnership to increase their reach in the market. As a Compaq partner, Zenith will offer Compaq products to the large and medium corporations across the country. Compaq hopes to benefit from Zenith's strengths in government and banking markets. "We will be able to expand our penetration into the government sector at the grassroots level. With Zenith's focus on the banking sector, there will be a major growth potential for both of us," said Balu Doraisamy, managing director, Compaq India. Zenith will have access to Compaq's expertise in the fields of professional services and systems integration.

Unify Vision launched

Unify Corporation India, a unit of AKS Software Ltd, has launched its `Unify Vision' software in the country aimed at e-commerce applications, supply chain automation and automated customer service applications. The software integrates custom built, packaged and legacyapplications with the internet. It also allows native integration for internet and Windows-based applications, running on Unix or Windows NT servers.

Cisco, C&W tie up

Cisco Systems has joined forces with Hong Kong's leading integrated telecom company Cable & Wireless HKT to jointly develop 21st century communications services for Hong Kong. Aquavit to pick stake in NetacrossAcquavit Inc, an internet start-up fund, on Thursday said it will pick up 26 per cent stake in Delhi-based software firm Netacross Ltd. "Aquavit will subscribe to 26 per cent of the fresh equity in Netacross for $1.75 million (Rs 7.5 crore)," the two firms said in a joint statement. With the additional equity, the total paid-up capital of Netacross would go up to $6.75 million (Rs 29 crore).
