Plan expenditure jumps 37% in first four months
The Plan expenditure has grown by over 37.13% in the first four months of the current financial year to Rs 21,451 crore compared with Rs 15,643 crore in the corresponding period last year. This is despite the Kargil conflict and the additional cost of general elections.
Centre plans new system to ensure quality basmati rise exports
The union government is planning to introduce a new system to improve quality of basmati rice exports from the country and proposes to rope in Agricultural Products Exports Development Authority (Apeda) for this.
Government may stop diesel import, says OCC official
The Centre is planning not to import diesel after deliveries in the first-half of October, an official of the Oil Coordination Committee (OCC) said on Wednesday.
