Ajanta Pharma has been awarded a South African product and process patent for carotenoids and micronutrients, making it the first company to get such a patent. The company has already filed for a US and PCT patent for carotenoids. The product was developed at Ajanta Pharma's R&D unit at Kandivli in Mumbai.
