Centre recommends restructuring plan for directorate of tourism

Rakesh Sood
New Delhi, Aug 24: The Government has recommended a major restructuring plan for the directorate of tourism on the lines of the railway board.

Under the new plan, the thrust will be on full exploitation of tourism potential with monitoring of overseas offices. Special emphasis will be on human resource development coupled with innovative training.

These suggestions were made by cabinet secretary Prabhat Kumar when the draft policy was sent to him for clearance.

However, a decision on the implementation of the recommendations can only be taken after the new government takes charge.
