Seagram adds excitement to billiardsAs part of its promotional efforts, Seagram organised a spate of promotions and contests during its 100 Pipers Billiards Week, held in Chennai in the second week of August. These included a 100 Pipers contest offering free invitations to the World Professional Billiards Championship, besides three innovative print ads inviting respondents to call in and answer the question ``what is the legend of the 100 Pipers?'' Said Deepak Katty, GM, south, ``One of the key objectives of the Billiards Week was to increase the level of interest and enthusiasm for the sport.''
Weighed in gold
Parekh Platinium Ltd, a Rs 400 crore corporate house, has introduced gold Rakhis on the accasion of Raksha Bandhan. The designer range comes in 100 designs. It is manufactured in 22 karat gold, with weight ranging from 0.5 gram onwards and priced at Rs 300 upwards. The company has also introduced special Raksha Bandhan series of gold coins as gifts from brothers tosisters.
Special Hallmark cards for Rakhi
On the occasion of Rakhi, Hallmark has introduced over 25 designs of cards. The themes range from floral and traditional to human figures and cartoons. The cards are priced from Rs 7 to Rs 28.
Swedish range of floorings
Classic Flooring & Interiors has launched Tarketts' range of Swedish vinyl floorings in Mumbai. Though Tarkett manufactures over 70 shades and designs of PVC flooring, only seven have been introduced in the market.
Spa'kel introduces frozen corn
Spa'kel Aqua Mineral Company, a subsidiary of the Jukaso Group, has made a foray into the frozen foods market with the launch of frozen corn. Branded Ashadeep Honey pearls, the product is a premium quality of corn made from imported F1 seeds. In comparison to other frozen corn, it contains no starch. Unlike tinned corn ,it contains no preservatives. To be launched in the Delhi market initially, the product will be available in four pack sizes: 200 gms, 300 gms, 500 gms and 1kg.
New IT magazine
Cyber Media (India) Ltd, publishers of technology magazines like Dataquest, PC Quest, Voice & Data, Computers@Home, have now launched an exclusive magazine for channels in the IT industry, called DQ Channels India. It would reach out to 15,000 channel partners across 300 towns and aims to create a lifelong bond between IT companies and distribution channels.
