Media Video to form JV with foreign firm

Aimed at capturing the growing market for video and computer games, city-based Media Video has decided to form a joint venture with a foreign firm to introduce new products in the country. Media Video has identified a foreign partner who has evinced interest in forming a joint venture with the company and the formalities would be completed soon, Prem Rishi, chairman and managing director of the company told PTI. Rishi refused to identify the foreign firm for strategic reasons saying discussions are still to be completed. He also declined to comment on the reports that the foreign firm has expressed desire in taking a stake in Media Video.

Wipro Software appointments

Wipro Software and Services has appointed V Rama Kumar as chief executive (electronic commerce) while Ram N Agarwal has been appointed corporate executive vice-president of Wipro Corporation. Agarwal will also be a member of Wipro's corporate executive council. Kumar will report toWipro's vice-chairman Vivek Paul who is based the US.

Samman Patra for Zee Telefilms

Zee Telefilms has been awarded the Samman Patra for export performance in 1998-99 from the commissionerate of customs. Zee Telefilms had a export turnover of Rs 152 crore in 1998-99, as against Rs 105 crore achieved the year before, a growth of 45 per cent.

Mastercard, Citibank electronic programme

Mastercard and Citibank have launched a pioneering joint electronic programme in India through which both will attempt to increase the proliferation of safe and efficient electronic payment mechanisms in the country. The launch will provide consumers with a wide variety of payment choices to suit the customer needs.

Aztec Software

Aztec Software and Technology Service has appointed Debashish Chakraborhty as vice president (product engineering) of its Indian operations. Under the new assignment, he will be responsible for product development and engineering activities.
