ICICI board to meet on ADR/GDR

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
New Delhi, Aug 18: ICICI Ltd board will meet tomorrow at Mumbai to decide on its forthcoming American Depository Receipts (ADR) and Global Depository Receipts (GDR) issue, a senior ICICI official of the financial institution said here on Wednesday.

"The board is meeting tomorrow to take a final decision on the structure, size and amount of ADR/GDR issue," chief operating officer Lalita D Gupte told reporters after the launch of its home loan services.

When asked whether the financial institution would also come out with a domestic issue simultaneously to protect the interest of all its shareholders, Gupte declined to comment saying "all the decisions will be taken in tommorrow's meeting".

Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) had last week permitted ICICI to raise $500 million (Rs 2150 crore) through GDR and ADR to finance its growing lending requirements.
