New Delhi, Aug 8: Hinduja-controlled IN Network, in a criminal and civil action, has indicted two of its former presidents for defrauding the company by lakhs of rupees.According to a company release, the particular instance concerns the purchase of hundreds of points by IN Cablenet from Video Vision, located at Andheri (West) and owned by Yogesh Radhakrishnan, former president of IN TV. The deal took place in November 1996 and the then president of IN Cablenet, Jagjit Singh Kohli, took the decision to purchase the points arbitrarily without the approval of the company's board, the release added.
However, neither were the points actually transferred to IN Cablenet nor was the company informed of the actual status on the ground, the release stated. To compound the offence, Kohli and Radhakrishnan colluded in a criminal conspiracy to keep the points in Video Vision itself, even as IN Network was made to pay for maintenance and royalty of the said points, it added.
Repeated reminders to Video Vision tohand over these points and clear the accumulated outstandings have gone unheeded, the network's spokesperson said. Hence, the feed to Video Vision which was being provided by IN Network has since been stopped, she said. The company is now taking legal action against Kohli and Radhakrishnan, she added.
