Sebi sets up panel on funds' functioning
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has set up a committee under the chairmanship of BG Deshmukh, former cabinet secretary, to look into ways in which the governing and functioning of mutual funds can be improved. The committee will comprise eminent people from the capital markets, Association of Mutual Funds in India and UTI.
Fenugreek prices may zoom on poor supply
Fenugreek prices are all set to reach historical high levels in the near future as the main competetors Australia, Pakistan and Turkey are facing shortfall in production. As a result the world demand is likely to be diverted to India.
Sensex has enough room for a downslide; next support at 4521
The downtrend in the market continued on Tuesday, with the Sensex losing another 32 points to close at 4593. The market opened on a positive note at 4633, some eight points higher than the previous close of 4625.
