NIIT to launch e-billing, payment solutions

NIIT on Wednesday announced the launch of "Easy Pay Server", the internet-based billing and payment system to help firms to present electronic bills to the consumer for online payments. The consumers can benefit from paying their bills online to companies using the Easy Pay Server with an instant global access to their bills and in turn schedule recurring payments, a top company official said on the side-lines of a seminar on e-commerce organised by Ficci in New Delhi on Wednesday. "This service would eliminate costs of printing, postage, processing and advertising and would provide billers a flexibility to tailor a bill to reach the customer," Dhruv Nath, vice-president of NIIT, said.

Microtek International

Microtek International has launched what it claims is the world's most advanced 15" 69 khz colour monitor. Additional features include 120 W PMPO multimedia speakers, built-in microphone, front panel stereo volume control and a socket forhead phone and external microphone. "We are selling it at a maximum retail price of only Rs 8,000," said company director Anil Gupta.

Rediff's search engine

Rediff-On-the-Net has unveiled a new, faster and user-friendly Rediff search powered by Inktomi's back-end software, giving its users access to over 110 million documents on the Web. Rapidity with which information is made available is its key feature. A team at Rediff reviews and compiles documents on the Web providing a synopsis of a particular site, saving the user hours of unnecessary browsing.

Sun Microsystems

Sun Microsystems has claimed a victory in scalable enterprise computing by breaking two world records for performance in recent benchmark tests of BaanERP software applications. The tests were completed on a Sun Enterprise 10000 server, commonly known as Starfire, and a Sun StorEdge A5200 disk array.

Eurologic adopts Cheetah hard drive

Eurologic Systems has integratied Seagate's Cheetah 18LP class of hard drivesinto its next generation storage products. Eurologic customers benefit from the company's early adoption of the Cheetah 18LP by being able to store up to twice as much data in the same-size cabinet; transfer information at up to 133 per cent and enjoy lower power and cooling requirements.
